Hello Chiranjeev Singh ,

UPES Dehradun Takes admission through CLAT only.

There are 17 National Law universities in India and One National Law University Delhi whcih takes admission Through AILET (All India Law Entrance Test ).

If say, I sit for CLAT this year and the admissions for NLS, Bangalore close at 145. So if I score well within that range, I get the college. As rightly pointed out in other answers, it is affected by your rank and percentile.

If you want to get into any NLU in the country your rank should be within 1000 or so. If you wish to get into one of the top 3 colleges in the country it should be within 200 or so. All this is for a general category seat.

On particular achieving marks, one earns eligibility to clear the cutoffs of Law colleges across country.

CLAT 2019 Eligibility:

To be eligible for CLAT, the students must have secured:

(A) Forty five percent (45%) marks in Qualifying Exam (Class XII examination) in case of students belonging to Unreserved /OBC /Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories.

(B) Forty Percent (40%) marks in case of students belonging to SC/ST categories.

Students who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2019 are also eligible for appearing in CLAT-2019 Offline examination. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, otherwise they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.

The result of qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the Course.

CLAT 2019 will be held from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM on 12th May 2019.

Hi.

CLAT is a combined entrance examination for 12-14 National Law Schools. If anyone wants to enter into these NLUs, one has to appear for the CLAT. There is no other shortcut. But according to your question then there are other good law schools which have their separate entrance exam or the selection is done on the basis of your 12th marks. And UPES Dehradun is one of them. UPES Dehradun accepts class XII score in the first stage of selection process. If you have more than 85% in aggregate in class XII, you are eligible for next stage of selection-GD and Personal Interview.

Good luck
