Hi
It's necessary for you to be well versed with everything else than the inorganic portion to be able to get 80 out of 100 in chemistry. Inorganic is actually the easiest part of chemistry and also the most boring so leaving it out from your preparation is never the ideal choice.
Inorganic questions are easier to solve, least time consuming and are sort of questions which you either know or you don't. Hence I would advise you to cover few portions of inorganic syllabus which are given higher significance in exams and try build up your physical and organic portion which require lots of practice to get efficient in.
Chemistry is highly scoring and least time consuming of the three subjects, hence as a personal opinion i would not like leaving out on some easy pickings. It never depends on anyone's opinion on exam preparation but only on you as eventually you have to give the exam and get into some college of your choice through this exam. If you would be able to compensate for these lost marks by getting them in maths and physics then it's fine.
Hope this helps and good luck

Hello,

For JEE Mains, you need basic concepts in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of your 10+2 classes. Among this, the topics in Inorganic Chemistry includes

11th

  1. Classification of Element and Periodicity
  2. Hydrogen
  3. s- block Elements
  4. p- block Elements
  5. Environmental Chemistry

12th

  1. p- block Element
  2. d- and f- block Elements (Transitions Elements)
  3. General Principle and Process of Isolation of Elements
  4. Co-ordination Compound

You will find the weightage of all chapters in this link:

Dear student,

If you're preparing for JEE mains then I would suggest that you complete all the parts of chemistry The chemistry subject is very scoring part in JEE mains.

And also if you think you can get 80 marks out of hundred without touching the Inorganic Chemistry part then you are completely wrong.
Acually this hundred marks are basically divided into three parts that is 33, 33 and 34 marks out of which assume that 33 marks belongs to inorganic chemistry, 33 to physical chemistry and 34 to organic chemistry.

So if you completely leave the inorganic chemistry then also you cannot get 80 marks, you can only get 67 marks in JEE mains assuming that you have solved all the questions of physical and organic chemistry in jee mains exam.

So better learn something in inorganic chemistry, if you hate this branch then still don't leave it completely because something is better than nothing.

So don't leave inorganic chemistry behind as it will help you a lot in scoring marks, because in inorganic chemistry there are no numericals like physical chemistry, only you have to learn the things and if your memory is good then you can score very good in inorganic chemistry.

So study all three branches of chemistry, then only you can score 80 or above in chemistry during jee mains.
