Dear student,

• Sorry you can't use birth certificate as a domicile certificate. Because domicile is nationality proof you can't replace as a any other certificate.
• If want domcile certificate you go your taluka tahsil or sub divisional office you required following document.
• 1. Birth certificate
• 2. Village or town residential proof
• 3. Sarpanch or mayor certificate
• 4.  Ration card
• 5.  Tax related document.

Your Birth certificate will not suffice as a Domicile Certificate. There are 2 proformas for domicile certificate for WBJEE Counselling. You will need Proforma A1 as Domicile Certificate for Candidates residing in the State of West Bengal continuously for atleast 10 years.  This is given by any Government Authority. They might be:

• District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Deputy Magistrate, Deputy Collector, Block Development Officer
• Superindent of Police, ASP, Sub Divisional Police Officer, DSP
• Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, ACP
• Judicial Magistrate
• Corporation Area Magistrate
• Assistant Secretary
• Deputy Director

Alternatively, you can get the domicile certificate from HoD of your College where you studied your 12th from and then you need Proforma A2. Only these 2 are accepted formats. Your Birth certificate will not work as a domicile certificate.
