First of all, it is possible in some foreign universities having a very active graduate program in Nutrition Biochemistry and Nutri-genomics with active collaboration with the Metabolomics team.

Second, Ph.D. programs are less likely in Dietetics and Nutrition and more likely in Nutritional Science. Once you identify a university in USA Europe Japan, you go through two-tier examinations equivalent to GRE/TOEFL. Mind you, some countries have addition riders, local national language competencies during the first two years, without which you can proceed. So be aware of such booby traps.

Third, I compliment your idea because nutrition science has not too many people with hardcore. Research trends clearly indicate interest and availability of R&D funds available in centers excellence. The field of Neutraceuticals is already established. Role of probiotics is going through a deeper level of understanding. In India, National Institute of Nutrition (NIN, Hyderabad) can appreciate the importance of this emerging frontier nutritional science.

By the way, did you know Cup Noddles (Top Ramen) was developed by NASA for space missions and now commercialized by Nissin Ltd Japan and is being manufactured in India by Indo-Nissin  . Top Ramen saved lives of Kerala Flood victim. The point I wish to highlight is how basic R&D becomes essential and useful in the process to inspire you.
