Can we get seat in IIT or NIT by EWS-General quota?

Dear student,

Yes you can get seat in IIT or NIT through General EWS quota. From year 2019 Government has given 10% reservation for the community of general students who are economically weaker.

But to avail this reservation you have to fulfil certain criteria which I am mentioning below.

  • The  student's family income should be less than 8 lakhs.
  • The student's family must not own the agricultural land more than 5 acres.
  • The residential flat of student must be less than 1000 sq feet.

By proving all these eligibility criteria, you will get EWS certificate which you will have to show during counseling for NITs or IITs.
