Hello Amith,

According to the eligibility standards set by National Testing Agency(NTA), a candidate should attain the age of 17 years by the end of the year in which the candidate gives the NEET exam and takes admission into  a college. For example: if a candidate is appearing for NEET 2020, then he/she should complete 17 years of age by the end of 2020 that is on or before 31 december 2020.

If you donot follow the various rules and fail to fulfil the eligibility criteria, you will not be able to give the exam.

Dear student, the criteria for registration for the Neet exam is that you must be of minimum 17 years of age. And also you can apply for Neet while appearing for the higher secondary Board qualifying examination. If you do not attain the age of 17 at the time of registration, you are not allowed to sit for the exam.
