In CAT exam only objectives questions are asked. There are 3 sections Verbal Ability, Quantitativ Ability and DI-LR (Data interpretation and Logical Reasoning).

In Verbal Ability there are all language and grammar related questions of different types. It also have 3-4 paragraphs with each one of them having 2-4 questions based on your reading.

In quantitative ability there are all numericals based on different chapters like sets, probability, P&C, geometry etc. For detailed syllabus go to through the guidelines brochure of CAT exam.

In DI-LR there are different situational questions in which you have to solve a series of questions. In this case most of the questions are inter related to each other and many times on solving the puzzle and questions you are able to find out answer of all the questions asked below.

This exam is totally based on objective questions and is a game of speed with accuracy. For a better understanding you should go through mock test which will give you an idea about paper and also tell the position where you stand right now. After giving mock test you should make sure you analyse the solution of paper which will help you not only overcome your mistakes but also in making up a strategy to attempt your paper. This will overall help you in increasing your percentile.
