Category rank is not only for state counselling . It is used in both state and all India counselling .

• In All India Counselling (like for NEET), your All India Rank (AIR) is mainly used, but category rank is also considered for category-wise seat allotment (like SC, ST, OBC, EWS).

• In State Counselling , your state rank and category rank both are important for seat allotment within your state.
