Central University of Hyderabad is recognised by the UGC. It is accredited with an ‘A' grade by the NAAC.  Admission to most of the courses is based on the entrance exam conducted by UoH.

Admission is also on the basis of some national-level entrance exams for admission to MBA, MCA, MTech and PhD programmes.The university conducts an entrance exam for admission to MSc, MA, MTech, MBA, MPA, MFA, MPH and PhD programmes and also accepts national-level entrance exams, including CAT, NIMCET, GATE, UGC NET and CSIR NET, for admission to MBA, MCA, MTech and PhD programmes, respectively.
