Hello,

Candidates who qualify GATE/GPAT irrespective of their category are eligible to apply for AICTE PG Scholarship. So if you have qualified in GATE/GPAT you will be eligible to get scholarship irrespective of you category.Candidates belonging to reserved categories need to submit valid category certificate.

You can click the link below to find the general guidelines where you can find all the details

Hi,

This does not mean that OBC will not get scholarship. This means obc who have non creamy layer certificate will get the scholarship through obc qouta.

Creamy layer obc candidate means those candidates whose family annual income is more than 8 lakh per annum. Those whose family income is less than 8 lakhs come under non creamy layer category.

According to above stament given in gate scholarship eligibility criteria ,The scholarship is provided to only those obc category candidate which come under non creamy layer. So  a creamy layer obc candidate who qualified gate through obc category you will not eligible for the scholarship. If you are creamy layer obc category candidate you can apply through open/ur category. Usually the qualifying cutoff for obc category are less than open category in gate exam.the benefit of apply to obc category is that you qualify with low cutoff.  After qualifying the exam all category candidate get same amount of scholarship.

Hope this helps.

muhammed mubashir According to the instruction by aicte "Candidates qualified under SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Physically Handicapped not having authentic certificate are not eligible for GATE/GPAT scholarship"

So If you have qualified gate exam through obc NCL category you have to provide the NCL certificate. If not then it is not necessary.
