Question : Directions: Read the given statements and conclusions carefully. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. You have to decide which conclusions logically follow/s from the given statements.
Statements:
(I) Some editors are journalists.
(II) All journalists are writers.
(III) No writer is a reporter.
Conclusions:
(I) Some writers are editors.
(II) No reporter is a journalist.

Option 1: Only conclusion I follows

Option 2: Only conclusion II follows

Option 3: Both conclusions I and II follow

Option 4: Neither conclusion I nor II follows

Team Careers360 23rd Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: Both conclusions I and II follow

Solution : According to the given statements, the following Venn diagram can be drawn –

Let's analyse the conclusions –
Conclusion I: Some writers are editors – From the above Venn diagram, it is clear that the circle of writers intersects the circle of editors and has some common area between them. So, this conclusion follows.
Conclusion II: No reporter is a journalist – From the above Venn diagram, it is clear that no writer is a reporter and a journalist is the part of a writer. So, this conclusion follows.

So, both conclusions I and II follow. Hence, the third option is correct.

Question : Directions: Select the option that is related to the fifth letter cluster in the same way as the second letter cluster is related to the first letter cluster and the fourth letter cluster is related to the third letter cluster.
GIST : FEHGRQSR :: DUCK : CBTSBAJI :: LOPE : ?

Option 1: KJNMONDC

Option 2: KONDCJNM

Option 3: KMONDCJN

Option 4: KMONDCNM

Team Careers360 25th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: KJNMONDC

Solution : Given:
GIST : FEHGRQSR :: DUCK : CBTSBAJI :: LOPE : ?

GIST→Each letter has two codes→FE/ HG/ RQ/ SR
G – 1 = F, G – 2 = E; I – 1 = H, I – 2 = G; S – 1 = R, S – 2 = Q; T – 1 = S, T – 2 = R
DUCK→Each letter has two codes→CB/ TS/ BA/ JI
D – 1 = C, D – 2 = B; U – 1 = T, U – 2 = S; C – 1 = B, C – 2 = A; K – 1 = J, K – 2 = I
Similarly, follow the same pattern for LOPE→
L – 1 = K, L – 2 = J; O – 1 = N, O – 2 = M; P – 1 = O, P – 2 = N; E – 1 = D, E – 2 = C

So, the first option KJNMONDC is related to the fifth letter cluster. Hence, the first option is correct.

Question : A dishonest shopkeeper professes to sell goods at its cost price but uses a false weight of 950 gm for each kilogram. His gain percentage is:

Option 1: $6\frac{1}{4}\%$

Option 2: $5\frac{5}{19}\%$

Option 3: $5\frac{3}{17}\%$

Option 4: $6\frac{2}{7}\%$

Team Careers360 16th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: $5\frac{5}{19}\%$

Solution : The shopkeeper sells 950 gm instead of 1000 gm.
Let the cost price of 1 gm be Re. 1.
Selling price of 950 gm = Cost price of 1000 gm = Rs. 1000
The cost price of 950 gm = Rs. 950
Profit = Rs. 1000 – Rs. 950 = Rs. 50
So, profit % $=\frac{\text{Profit}}{\text{CP}} × 100 = \frac{50}{950}× 100 = 5\frac{5}{19}\%$
Hence, the correct answer is $5\frac{5}{19}\%$.

doing pgdm from ugc is better or doing from aicte is better and why?

Tanya Gupta 26th Jan, 2024

Hello,

For MBA programs, UGC recognition is important, but AICTE approval is optional. On the other hand, for PGDM courses, AICTE approval is mandatory, and UGC approval is not required since PGDM is conferred by institutes and not universities. PGDM courses are generally not considered equivalent to an MBA degree, unless the awarding institution is a member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities).

Hope this helps,

Thank you

I have completed Diploma mechanical engineering and I want to do Computer science engineering (B.tech part time). Is it possible to switch? If Yes, Did AICTE approved this? Please Attach any proof of AICTE guidelines, because one of the college asking for proof From AICTE.

Nitin Kumar 10th Jun, 2024

Yes, it is possible to switch from a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering to a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) through a part-time program, and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) approves this route.

AICTE regulations allow diploma holders in engineering to pursue BTech degrees through lateral entry admissions, typically starting in the second year of the program. This reduces the overall program duration compared to starting fresh.

The AICTE website (https://www.aicte-india.org/)  (https://www.aicte-india.org/) provides information on various regulations and approval processes. You can search for specific guidelines related to lateral entry admissions in BTech programs.
