Hello Eswar,

The marks which is set by a board or an organisation that conducts an exam, decides that you have cleared that particular exam or not , is called as cut-off marks. It is very important to score equal or above the cutoff marks in order to qualify that exam.
The cutoff marks are calculated by considering certain factors like number of candidates who appeared in the examination, the number of vacancies , and the difficult of the examination.
If there are more number of vacant seats available as compared to average number of candidates then cut off marks will be low and vice - versa.
