Commission was appointed by the govt of India in term of their Resolution to bring changes within the
present education system and make it better for the state . Dr. A. Lakshmanswami Mudaliar was the
Vice-Chancellor of Madras University.
After the Independence India needed a change within the education system. Number of Secondary
Schools were increasing in India it had been much a requirement to require care the scholars of lyceum .

•Its relationship to primary, basic and better education.

•Other allied problem in order that a sound and fairly uniform system of education suited to our needs
and resources could also be provided for the entire country.
Methods of Enquiry:
The Commission prepared a questionnaire handling the varied aspects of education . This was sent bent
various educational experts, teachers and academic institutions of India. On the idea of the replies
received an honest deal of data was collected. The members of the Commission took an in depth tour of
the varied parts of India and purchased first-hand knowledge of the varied educational problems and
presented its report running on August 29, 1953.
