As per your question according to the data The education commission referred to as Mudaliar

Commission was appointed by the govt of India in term of their Resolution to bring changes within the

present education system and make it better for the state . Dr. A. Lakshmanswami Mudaliar was the

Vice-Chancellor of Madras University.

After the Independence India needed a change within the education system. Number of Secondary

Schools were increasing in India it had been much a requirement to require care the scholars of lyceum .

Aim of Appointment:

1.To enquire into the issues of education

2.The aims, organization & content of education and

3.Its relationship to Primary & education

Suggest measures for its reorganization and with particular reference to:

•Its relationship to primary, basic and better education.

•The aims, organization and content of education.

•The inter-relation of Secondary Schools and differing types

•Other allied problem in order that a sound and fairly uniform system of education suited to our needs

and resources could also be provided for the entire country.

Methods of Enquiry:

The Commission prepared a questionnaire handling the varied aspects of education . This was sent bent

various educational experts, teachers and academic institutions of India. On the idea of the replies

received an honest deal of data was collected. The members of the Commission took an in depth tour of

the varied parts of India and purchased first-hand knowledge of the varied educational problems and

presented its report running on August 29, 1953.

Mudaliar Commission is also known as the Secondary education commission.

  • In 1952,  Dr. A Laxman Swami Mudaliar was appointed as a chairman of secondary education commission by Union Government of India.
  • The point of this commission was to look at the current arrangement of secondary education in the country. It intends to recommend measures to improve it.
  • The commission submitted its report in August 1963 on almost all aspects of secondary education.
  • After the Independence India needed a change in the education system. Number of Secondary Schools were increasing in India it was much a need to take care the students of secondary school.

Major Recommendations regarding aims of the commission:

After broad examination through a survey, managing different parts of secondary educations and visit through different parts of India the commission introduced a report.

  1. Development of democratic citizenship : India is a democratic country therefore the citizens need to be trained to uphold and practice the values of the democratic social order.
  2. Improvement of Vocational Efficiency :One of the urgent needs of the country is to increase the productive efficiency of its people and to increase the national income. For this, education must aim at increasing the productivity or vocational efficiency of the young students.
  3. improvement in the methods of teaching
  4. installation of the higher secondary system with diversified courses
  5. improvement in the system of examination
  6. Development of Personality :The secondary education must aim at the development of the personality of the students.
  7. Education for leadership: According to the commission an important function should be train students for leadership qualities .
