yes they have good placement record in the past.it depends on which which you field you want to go.some core companies give a placement of 17 to 18 lakhs.

IT sector will give more 9 to 10 lakhs starting.

I would like to tell you that BITS offers placements for students.
The highest Package can be upto 16 lac per annum whereas average Package can be approximately 10 lac per annum. Packages depends upon candidates profile.
Companies such as tata, Vodafone, idea, idbi bank etc are among recruiting companies.
