Learning a foreign language is always beneficial in this world right now and learning a language like French is of extreme use. French comes under one of the top 10 most useful languages to learn and since you said they've completed till B2 level , it will be a bonus in your CV but never an impediment. Learning till B2 is almost fluent language with good comphrending, writing and listening skills which will be an extra addition to getting a job.
