Hello,
Ofcourse SL ARORA is a very nice book if you want to understand the basic concepts , but I will tell you to go through NCERT books first as it covers all the basic concepts that are required to crack jee mains exam.
Solve HC VERMA only if your basics are clear otherwise you might face difficulties.
