JEE Main application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances so it is the responsibility of the candidate to appear for the examination. If you do not wish to appear for JEE Main then you may skip appearing for the exam but you cannot claim JEE Main application fee once initiated the payment regardless of the reason. If you do not appear for the exam then you cannot obtain rank and get admission in an institute based on merit in JEE Main.
