Hi Abhimanyu. Graduates of M.Des. have tremendous career prospects in varied fields of design provided you you have creativity skills and uniqueness. Companies like BMW, Volkswagon, Cognizant, Samsung, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. offer annual packages of around Rs.7-9 lakhs to freshers after completion of the course. Roles include Computer Aided Design (CAD) engineer, graphics engineer, etc. Textile industry also offer profiles like embroidery designers, fabric analyzer, fabric resource manager, textile designers and textile laboratory managers. Doing M.Des. from an IIT will definitely add weight and value to your resume, but at the end, the designation and CTC offered to you will depend completely on your own skills. Hope this helps.
