To join B.Sc. Optometry, you must have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics. You need at least 50% marks in your 12th exam. You should be at least 17 years old. Some colleges may ask for entrance exams like NEET or AIIMS Paramedical Entrance. The course usually lasts 4 years, including 1 year of internship. After this, you can work as an optometrist in hospitals and clinics.

Hello aspirant,

Candidates must complete Class 12 in science courses, such as biology, chemistry, physics, or mathematics, in order to be eligible for a bachelor's degree in optometry.  Class 12 scores are the primary criterion for admission to the Bachelor of Optometry program, while some universities also accept CUET results.

Hello,

To be eligible for admission in BSC Optometry,

- Minimum Qualification: A pass with at least 50% in the 10+2 examination from PUC/ICSE/CBSE 12th Grade or any equivalent board is usually required.
- Science Stream: The 10+2 or equivalent should be in the science stream, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics as mandatory subjects.

Optometry admission requirements,

  1. Minimum 50% percentile in PCB based on 12th grade.
  2. Separate exams are conducted by the university to check eligibility.
  3. 3 list are been short list ( might change according to University rules) and students are selected by their exam scores.
  4. It been seen that the person with more percentage in 12th grade gets an advantage to been listed in the 1st list itself but the personal exams for optometry do matter.
  5. The exams for optometry are conducted just after the 12th grade by various different University at different time so u need to check out the dates and apply as per it .
  6. One think I like to share is if you'd like to go for BSc in Optometry then do optometry course from Maharashtra due to advance equipment available.

I hope this helps.
