No entrance in VIT doesn't through board exam or JEE MAINS. It will enter the students via it's entrance examination also called as VITEEE . Inorder to enter in VIT premises only you need to have a 60% marks in PCM and enough marks in entrance exam to clear the cutoff of your respective branch.

Dear student,.
I would like to tell you that VIT has a entrance of their own. The college conducts it every year. So for getting admision in VIT you need to clear that. Once you clear the entnace the counselling cut offs are declared and as per that you have to go for the counsellings.
