Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Others) are valid for a time period of about 5 years. Make sure that your certificate is not older than 2015 at the least. This is because all certificates undergo intense scrutiny and any discrepancy can jeopardize your selection. If it is older, get it made again before counselling starts.
