Its not compulsory to have mathematics in commerce though having it has certain benefits but still not having isn't bad.But in graduation you will have to go through maths because its compulsory and it will appear any one semester though the level will be of 10th.I would say that first of all you try to score a good marks in class 12th so that you can get admission in DU.Fees in DU in very budget and your father will definitely not hesitate.But again just focus in getting good marks.
