             According to few of the previous years' cut off marks, your marks is a bit less for Assam Engineering College, Guwahati but yes you can take admission easily in Jorhat Engineering College. Please try for both via counselling.

First of all congratulations on securing a good rank in CEE exam. See ASTU have published the merit list and the counseling is starting from 10th of june, and as per your rank you are eligible for 1st counseling. And regarding your query it's totally depending on the other students which college they are choosing. As per previous year cut off most probably you will be able to get Jorhat engineering college (JEC), it will be tough to get Assam Engineering college (AEC) as you belong to general category and to get AEC your rank should be under 600 as it is counted on top of the colleges under CEE.
