In the year course system, the Hons courses can be converted to general courses depending on the marks of the student. But in semester system there is no way for you to transfer your course type from general to hons. In year system, if a student scores less marks than 45% in hons subjects then they are changed to general courses but in semester courses if you have failed then you have give supplementary examination and as a result you have no way to convert it.

I would say as you are in hons you should stay in it because you will not get the extensive knowledge if you are in general course compared to hons. So its beneficial for you to study BCOM HONS rather than BCOM GENERAL.
