Firstly no one can exactly predict the market after 5-6 years as we know CS is the most preferred and most profiting job according the present market scenario. So, I would suggest you to pursue your career into your own field of interest where you can innovate and think out of the box because that is the thing that will help you in the long run. As for the engineering branches all of them are core branches.

Preparing for an exam depend upon your mind set about your future plans. If you want to take up engineering and tech. field as your career there is no better option than preparing for JEE and getting into a reputed college. I would suggest you to prepare for JEE as most of the Government and other reputed colleges take admission through JEE Mains.
