The Gate for Chemistry subject is a 180 minute i.e. 3 hour duration paper where number of questions asked are 65 and the total marks is 100 . Following are some details regarding the exam:

• Question Types: Multiple Choice Questions ( MCQs ) and Numerical Answer Type Questions ( NAT )
• Sections: 2 sections - General Aptitude Section consisting of 10 questions and Chemistry Section consisting 55 questions.
• Marking Scheme: Questions will be of 1 and 2 marks. Negative marking is also there which will cost 1/3 marks.
