hi anup,

in jee advanced , apart from the general cutoff, there are sub category cutoffs also. and if you have not cleared even the category cutoff then there are no chances for you to get qualified in jee advanced.

IIT seats are given only to those who have qualified in the jee advanced examination , so if you have not been able to qualify in that you cannot get a seat in the IIT'S . but you definitely have chances of getting a seat in the NITs.

hope the information was helpfull

all the best:)

You can only be qualified for preparation course which is fully residential and hence admission into IIT shall commence from 2019 for regular batch in SC, ST and PWD category where candidates shall be trained.

Top 1500 ranks have good chances of conversion in preparatory cutoffs.

Entire details shared below.

For eligibility into regular admissions into IIT, students must have minimum 126marks in General category.

If you are under SC/ST/PwD category, they might have given you Preparatory list rank. In that case you'll be joining IIT (if you get), this year and will be given basic sciences coaching and then given admission to first year in 2019. Find more details in the JEE Adv information brochure.

Its like you are waitlisted for admission. If seats are vacant after in the IITs, they'll admit you under preparatory, but your rank is probably too low to get a seat, so I'd suggest its better to go for NITs/IIITs and GFTIs
