Hello Aspirant!

  • NEET is absolutely mandatory to gain admission into any medical or dental college, be it government or private except for 2 institutes, that are AIIMS and JIPMER, because they hold their own entrance examinations respectively.
  • Even for taking admission into foreign medical schools, you need to qualify NEET. Now, there is a  bit of understanding in this rule. Foreign medical schools have their own admission procedures and criteria and if you fulfill all of them then, you can take admission there. Now what role does NEET play here? Simple answer is that if you do not qualify NEET, you won't be able to practice in India after getting your degree from foreign schools. And if you qualify NEET, you will be able to practice in India.

Hello student,

You will not be able to get admission in any private or government institutes to study MBBS without appearing and qualifying in NEET. If you want to become a doctor without qualifying NEET, then you can appear, qualify and get a seat in AIIMS or JIPMER. The other option to become a doctor without NEET is studying MBBS in foreign countries.

Good Luck!

No.

You cannot become a doctor without appearing in NEET in India. NEET has been made compulsory for taking admission in government as well as private colleges.

NEET marks are mandatory for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BSMS, BNYS.

The other is to clear the entrance of AIIMS or JIPMER, as these two institutes conduct their own entrance examination.

All the best.
