It is not possible to study medical in USA directly after 12th. Minimum qualification for medical in USA is Basic Sciences which is similar to Bachelor’s degree according to Indian standard. After completing Basic Sciences, you have to take MCAT - Medical college admission test. Students clearing MCAT get an entry to medical schools of USA. I must also mention that there is no MBBS course in USA. Medical course in USA is MD degree.

The following are different ways that an Indian student can choose to pursue medical profession in USA after XII:

• XII from India → Basic Sciences (3 or 4 yr) from USA→ MCAT → MD from USA → USMLE → Practice in USA
• XII from India → Bachelors (3 yr) from India → MCAT → MD from USA → USMLE → Practice in USA
• XII from India → MD (5 yr) from Central America or Caribbean → USMLE → Practice in USA
