IIIT Bhagalpur is funded by Government of India (50%), Government of Bihar (35%) and Bihar state Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (BELTRON) (15%).

About the placement the college has good placements. The college was started in the year 2017. The first batch was passed out in 2021.

From the CSE branch, up to 70% of students got placed, while from ECE, up to 25% of students got placed. The highest salary package was offered by Amazon, which was 17 LPA. The average salary package offered is 8.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA.

Faculty is also good. They all are PhD holders from highly reputed institutes like IITs and NITs.

As the college is new but it is growing fast.
