When it comes to placement IT is the best branch along with CSE. Companies are same for both the branches, there are hardly 2–3 companies in which recruit CSE students and for them IT students are ineligible. So you can conclude that IT is equal to CSE, if we talk about placement. In curriculum, CSE has a few more courses for programming, algorithms and hardware whereas IT has more courses of networking and software engineering concepts. Other than this there is no major difference.
