The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) is an engineering college located in Mysore, Karnataka, India. It was established in 1946, and granted autonomy in 2007 from Visvesvaraya technological university. 

The placements of the college have been great for few years. The bigger companies like Oracle, Dell, Motorola, Wall Mart, etc., visited the campus to hire the students. Last year, the highest package went up to 28 lakhs per annum. The average package is around 3.5 to 4 lakhs.

Yes, you can get job in IT companies too.

ECE is a good choice its placement is around 80+%. Many companies like bluestar Voltas Havells etc are it's frequent visitors.

IT companies also offer jobs for ECE students like capegemini TCS Infosys Wipro Infotech Pvt Ltd etc..
