this department is one of the oldest department in chemical engineering in the world.the department celebrated Diamond jubliee in 1982 and platinum jubliee in1996.according to placement data 2018 the average package offered was 5.92 Lpa and 17.2 Lpa  .

Jadavpur University is one of the top ranked colleges in the country and its ranking is even higher than some of the top NITs. A number of students seek admission here every year. The chemical engineering department here is very good and the faculty and infrastructure are good. Although if you are considering placement as the only factor then you can be disappointed.
