It does have a very good record when it comes to chemical but not that far when it comes to Mech. Well it does have a very good placement record . Great teachers , very neat track record in post graduation exams and tremendous research scope . 

Everything written above is true. I dont need to seek anonymity in claiming that the placements in JU mech are second to only IIT-KGP, IIT-G in the eastern part this very year . 

Hey Sankalan! Jadavpur University is a State University which was established in the year 1955 and is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. The University is approved by UGC, AICTE, NCTE, and COA. It is also accredited with “Grade A” by NAAC. Jadavpur University courses are offered through its Departments and Affiliated Colleges. The college has good placements but i can't tell about particularly mechanical branch. Hope this may help you.
