Hello,

A candidate can appear for JEE Advanced for two consecutive years from the year of passing in the qualifying examination that is 10+2 or it's equivalent, it means that if you have passed in 10+2 or it's equivalent in the year 2021 you can appear for JEE Advanced 2021 and JEE Advanced 2022 provided you must have qualified in JEE Main 2021 and JEE MAIN 2022 respectively. You must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognised board. Earlier to get admission in to IITs/NITs/IIITs the candidates belonging to general category must have scored minimum 75% aggregate marks and candidates belonging to SC/ST category must have scored minimum 65% aggregate marks. But for JEE Advanced 2021 the minimum percentage requirement is relaxed due to corona pandemic so there is no minimum percentage requirement in this year.

Hi

One has a total of two attempts for JEE advanced over two consecutive years starting from the year of appearing for 12th board examination

This is because,

As per , eligibility criteria one is eligible for JEE advanced examination only in the year in which he or she appears for 12th board examination and the next year following it.

For example,

JEE advanced 2021 eligibility criteria says that you must have appeared for your class 12th board examination for the first time in the year 2021 or 2020

You can check detailed eligibility criteria of JEE advanced by visiting our page the link for the same page is provided below

If I tell you about Jee main then,

One can give JEE Mains entrance examination for a maximum of 3 consecutive years starting from the year of passing 12th board examination.

Now,

JEE Main entrance examination is conducted 4 times a year i.e

*February session

* March session

*April session.

* May session

Out of these 4 attempts in a year, the one in which you get the best score is considered for admission process.

So,  the maximum number of attempts for jee mains entrance examination

= 4 times *3 years

=  12 attempts in total

So, one has a total of 12 attempts over 3 consecutive years  starting from the year of appearing for 12th board examination.
