Hello Anchal,

The total number of seats all over India for the degree of MBBS is approximately 66, 620 out of which approximately 30,455 seats belong to government/state run institutions and approximately 36,165 seats belong to privately run institutions. Every year, around 7 lakhs students are eligible to appear NEET-UG and out of that around 6.2 lakhs students qualify to appear for the test out of whxhw around 3,22,00 qualify for 31,000 seats in government institutions. The competition is indeed very tough to land up a seat in a decent government run medical college but it's not an impossible task either if you prepare efficiently. Good luck!
