The paper contains 3 sections: Maths, Chemistry and Physics each of 120 marks.
Achieving 20k rank means you will have to score 150+ marks to ensure this rank. Assuming you are familiar with the concepts of class 11 and class 12, if you give 3-4 hours consistently everyday that will be sufficient. Some useful tips;

1. Try to study 2 subjects in a day dividing the time equally.

2. Do go through Chemistry Ncert book thoroughly.

3. Practice a lot of sample papers. Do not take break between a paper, try to give a continuous 3 hour time just like in the actual exam.

Hope this helps !

this question depends on the semantics of your study pattern! moreover aiming for a rank below 20k is pretty mediocre in my opinion. try aiming for a rank below 10k to be able to secure a decent seat in a decent NIT.

ill make a few assumptions before answering your question;

- youre not taking any coaching

- you have all the necessary material to study

- youre referring to online sources for extra guidance.

under these conditions, spending about  4 hours a day rigorously and religiously should help you prepare fairly well. combine this with research on paper pattern, solving pyqs and understanding the questions appearing in the exam you should be doing extra-ordinarily well.

best of luck
