Actually the number of hours one should study  depends upon the individual and it varies from individual to individual.

For example,
there are people who you are able to finish a chapter in just 3 hours but at the same time there are some other people who might I need 6 to 7 hours to complete the same chapters .

So, it totally depends upon you and your level of understanding that how many hours you should study for your JEE Mains examination preparation in general you should study at least 8 hours.

• Keep small breaks between your study hours like a break of 20 to 30 minutes after every 3 hours
• Give more time to the subject in which you are weak
• Revise :- there's no point of preparing for the exam if you couldn't recall anything in the examination hall, so you should stress on revision as well.
• Solve previous year question papers and mock test papers ;- You should solve these , it will give you idea of types of questions asked and their difficulty level and will help you a lot.
