It may be mentioned that Medical Council of India (MCI) has accorded permission for starting three new government medical colleges in Nalgonda and Suryapet Districts. In the same manner, MCI also permitted P. Mahindra Reddy Medical College, Chivella, Mamata Medical College, Bachupally and Surabhi Medical College, Siddipet in private sector.

Authentic sources indicated that at the rate of 150 MBBS seats for each college, in all, 750 additional seats have been granted.

It may be mentioned that last year, Malla Reddy Medical College, Hyderabad and Mahaveer Medical College, Vikharabad were also given permission by MCI to start these colleges from the year 2019-20
