Dear Arnab, there are approximately 36,000 Government MBBS seats across India. However, in 2020, NMC plans to set up atleast 75 Medical Colleges and that will add a minimum of 7500 MBBS seats assuming each College gets a 100 seat intake. Now there will be Private Colleges that would come up as well and we do not have that data yet. These 36,000 + 7500 MBBS seats will be spread across all Categories.
