In 1st sem of computer engineering diploma, you will have common subjects that all branches have. In 1st sem you will find only one computer related subject that is C language. And other subject are mentioned below.

Maths - 1

Physics

BASICS OF ENGINEERING DRAWING

ENGLISH

APPLIED MECHANICS

BASICS OF C LANGUAGE.

So due to this you will feel very bored in 1st year, as you don't have your branch realted subject, from 2nd year onwards you will have your all branch related subjects.
