Hello,
The simple answer is as much as you can.
Just as any examination percentile is calculated, it is the same for CAT. All the candidates papers are evaluated and sorted in descending order of their CAT marks. Also, for CAT the percentile is calculated up to three decimal places and it then rounded off to the next closest possible number.

If you score a very good percentile like above 90 percentile then you will get a good college and also it depends upon cat cutoff for various categories.
