According to Karnataka state brochure for reservations of seats for medical colleges, out of the total 85 percent of seats which the state have 66 percent seats are filled by the respective Linguistic or Religious minority and the rest 34percent seats are allotted to the candidate on basis of general merit list. The counselling for these seats is held by state authorities such as KEA.
