Following are the steps :

1. Attend a degree program and/or gain experience in a related field.
2. Become certified as a GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA).
3. Apply for an open position as a computer forensics investigator.
4. Complete an interview.
5. Get hired as a computer forensics investigator.
6. Receive training on the job once hired.
