First you should make a proper and programmatic time table which you'll follow throughout your preparation. Instead of choosing random topics from the syllabus, you must break in to sub topics. You can prepare your own notes which will help you in revision times. Try to get the best books for preparation.
For Current Affairs, you must read two newspaper daily thoroughly. For General Knowledge part, you can use Lucent's GK.

For Legal Knowledge section, you can use Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning by A P Bhardwaj or
Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning by Pearson. For Aptitude & Mental Ability, you can use Analytical Reasoning by M K Pandey or Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Agarwal. These books have been the best throughout years.

For Language Comprehension, you can use Objective General English by SP Bakshi.
Along with this, don't forget to solve previous year papers and mock tests.
