Start by completing all the basic NCERT's , from class 6th to 10th and along with them  start reading The Hindu or Indian Express , and maintain notes. Once you are done with the basic NCERT's you can move over to advanced books. You can also refer to some government websites of press information bureau, prs india to stay updated with various government policies and programmes.
