Firstly, I would suggest you go through the syllabus of the UPSC entrance exam including prelims and mains. Assess yourself in terms of what you think is good for you while you prepare for the UPSC exam.

There are a number of students who prepare for the UPSC while pursuing their B.Tech while there are others who also crack the exam while pursuing B.SC. Ultimately, it is how you plan your preparation.  The effort has to be put by you, hence most importantly assess yourself and see in which course will be comfortable in.
