I think your question is not asked properly.

Anyway I think you are asking about whether you can get into M.tech course in an IIT after cracking gate examination .

So I would like to tell you that yes you can surely get into IITs/NITs after cracking gate exam with a descent score .You should focus on your preparation as you have mentioned that you are in first year of B.Tech , you have plenty of time to prepare .so you can score a very good rank which will fetch you into your dream college.
