Hi Kartik,

Although our country’s population is increasing at a very rapid rate, the number of youths in our country is much better than any other country. This is why our country’s average population age is much better than any other country in the world at present. Having such a high number of youths will obviously require a good education infrastructure for the betterment of the population. I am glad that more and more youths today are considering education as the most important tool for their career growth. And in today’s world, a large number of students are knocking the doors of higher education. This clearly states that they are not satisfied with just one degree in their hand. Also, increasing demand has catered to the availability of a vast variety of courses a student can pick for higher education. This option of plenty can often lead to confusion amongst the aspirants. It is upto an individual to decide which career option is best for him or her. In similar lines, many students do get confused between MBA or law as the specialisation field to choose. Let me walk you through with some understanding of why these two fields are in demand and who all can choose these fields. This will only help in building a better clarity amongst individuals, but the final decision has to be made by the sole person aspiring for any higher specialisation. Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

  • An MBA has often proved a leap in many individuals life in terms of their career growth. And being a demanding course, it often requires, commitment, discipline, time and money. Also, it will make working professionals go jobless for a limited amount of time
  • A decision to pursue MBA in many aspirants life is the outcome of the need to uplift their career. Career advancement is one of the parameters of Maslow’s basic need pyramid. Also, for many aspirants, MBA provides an opportunity to switch their careers and make them available different doors of opportunities
  • The curriculum at most of the B-Schools is very tiring with requiring more than 24 hours a day of involvement. But, if this is a challenge, it is an opportunity to showcase students ability to handle multiple tasks at ease
  • MBA asks for a good investment of time and money. A 2 year program and a 20 lakh odd of fees is much worth investing in such a highly rewarding program. There’s an actual transformation of a person from mere an executor to a decision taker
Law
  • This course gives an opportunity to students to enter into the field of law and become legal professionals
  • One can actually start their career in law after completing an undergraduate degree or having joined in an integrated course
  • Since this profession is one of the noble professions of the world, it requires an equal dedication and hard work. Not many individuals have turned out to be a good lawyer

Both, MBA and LLB open doors to different dream careers for an individual. The duration of both the courses differ. MBA usually is of 2 years, if we talk about the regular MBA. One year MBAs are also gaining importance amongst the aspirants nowadays. The first year of MBA deals with usual understanding of various functions in an organisation such as, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology. Then the students go for their internships and finally, in the second year, the students are trained on their respective specialisations. A course of LLB is different to MBA. It requires 3 years of studies and then requires time for training and practice. Your communication skills and shrewdness are tested in a different level over here.

Both the fields are good choices for a post graduate program. But I leave you over here as to decide which one suits you the best and pursue accordingly on your interest.

All the very best!!

Hey there

Both are very good courses to do. See MBA is fully professional and you get easily placed in case you are in good college. In law you need to spend plenty of time to be certified lawer. In both the case it all depends from which college you did your course and what knowledge you acquired during course and job or practice your earning will be decided. But at the last it's all your choice what you want to choose because both are totally different paths.

Good luck

Hello Kartik, Well you have to do only one because you can't get a dual degree in india. So, put more focus on what are your priorities moving forward in life and then choose your course accordingly. If you are really interested in becoming a lawyer or a judge and the different IPCs fascinate you, then go for law course. If you love business administration and can handle business well and are interested in becoming CEO of any company and work for someone, then go for MBA.
