Dear Kavitha, to qualify for a Karnataka domicile certificate, the applicant should have been a permanent resident in the state for atleast six years from a given year.

So, if you are there in Karnataka or any of your guardian so you can apply for domicile of karnataka. If your parents live in Maharashtra which is your home state so can directly apply on behalf of your parents for domicile of maharashtra.
